The
BEC is a part of the North Mississippi Enterprise Initiative,
Inc. (NorthMiss), a non-profit (501(c)(3)) corporation formed
as a public/private regional partnership to foster entrepreneurial
growth in the region bounded by Panola, Lafayette and Grenada
counties. The BEC is affiliated with the Panola Partnership
as one of its long-term economic development projects.
The BEC is Panola County's business incubator, designed to help
small and start-up businesses as we seek to enhance long-term,
high-wage job growth in our community. Our aim is to see our
client-companies grow so much that they build their own facilities
in our county. But our facility is also open to larger, existing
companies, such as industries looking for temporary warehouse/distribution
space or the off-site implementation of a new manufacturing
line. Our role is to assist businesses of all stripes in Panola
County, with the knowledge that quality job creation helps all
Panola Countians.

The BEC is located in the Harmon Industrial Park at 275 Nosef
Drive, just east of the LSP Energy power plant. There is easy
access to the BEC from Brewer Road. We have two 6,500+-square
feet warehouses, perfect for manufacturing, storage, distribution,
etc. We also have several offices available, ranging from 600
to 930 square feet. We have some office partitions and other
furniture available to subdivide these offices for multi-person
offices. Retail establishments with walk-in customers are not
recommended for our facility, as our emphasis is on our role
within the industrial park. We are fully wired for all networking
and internet usage, as the attraction of more high-tech companies
to our region is a stated goal of our program.
